Genuine Vintage & Retro Pieces
Hi there, I'm Sue who runs yay retro! For the past six years, I've spent all of my time searching for the very best in 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s homewares. Often the items found are one offs, or rarely seen, making them extra special and something to snap up whilst you can! I do all the leg work searching out fab vintage and retro items wherever I go, doing all the hard work, so you don't have to. yay retro! constantly looks for genuine vintage kitchen and homewares which can be used every day in your home, or even in your vintage camper or caravan. My online vintage shop also sells vintage ornaments, cushions, bedding, tablecloths, toys and games, and now a range of handmade crocheted items! Everything you need to style your vintage home! The great thing is all UK mainland orders (exc. gift vouchers) come with FREE POSTAGE!
I always try to describe each item honestly, and in real detail - so important when buying pre-loved items. yay retro!'s vintage stock is always carefully checked over, hand washed and dried, before packing very safely. This ensures it arrives in the same condition as it left me, ready for a new life in your home.

yay retro! loves 1960s & 70s Flower Power
I love funky floral patterns from the 1960s and 70s whether this be on bedding, a vintage tablecloth, cushion or a fab coffee pot! Bright orange, yellow, pink and blues is the yay retro! vibe! I have to admit to having a bit of a love affair with the 1940s and 50s too and love Woods Beryl china and kitchenware of that period too.
Your Vintage Home Every Day
I always strive to have something fresh and exciting on offer. It is worth checking the yay retro! shop regularly - as I add fresh exciting finds almost every single day! I only select items that can truly continue to be used for the purpose they were originally designed for, so you can use them in your home every day.
yay retro! as seen in The Press
I am delighted that prestigious magazines such as Homes & Antiques, Country Homes & Interiors, Homemaker, Reloved, Reclaim and Vintage Home Magazine have regularly asked to feature yay retro!'s products and photos in their publications. yay retro! has also been recommended as a go-to online vintage shop by Kate Beavis in her book 'Style Your Modern Vintage Home'. Now yay retro! sells Handmade Crochet too!
I've been crocheting on and off for 32 years, with the resurgence of Flower Power and Vintage styling, crochet is currently enjoying a massive boom in popularity, I love the look and feel of crochet as it grows in my hands and happily I'm currently crocheting full time. I've begun to add useful items to the yay retro! shop for you to buy in my 60's inspired crochet section. Choose from crochet blankets, mandalas, pot stands and crochet hot water bottle sets. Obviously, I've made sure that all the yay retro! crochet items are 60/70s inspired and in some cases I've even followed vintage patterns! Each is unique and a one off based on what colours and styles take my fancy. If you like something it's worth snapping up as I probably won't ever make another the same!
Go Green, Buy Vintage
yay retro! is all about re-using vintage wares and protecting the planet. I use the least amount of plastics that I can, so that less harmful waste is put into landfill.....How do I achieve this, when I need to pack everything safely?
I always use high quality boxes, along with as much recycled packaging as I can - By reusing newspapers that my friends and local businesses collect for me helps save our woodlands. When it comes to plastics a lovely local design company saves all their clean 'waste' bubble wrap and polystyrene chips, so that I can reuse it.
When packing I use plenty of these materials to ensure that your vintage china and glassware arrives with you safely. This means that when you unwrap your yay retro! parcel you can be sure that I have recycled most of what you see :O)
