Poole Ariadne Large Teapot
(Poole Pottery)
Rarely seen and utterly stunning condition Poole teapot designed by Ann Read in the mid 1950s. The pattern is called Ariadne, and is an absolute gift for any avid Poole Pottery collector. Ariadne is a wavy pattern in Terracotta Red and Glacier Blue glazes on an Alpine white (light cream) background. This always appears with a sepia lid, as it does here. Poole named these patterns as 'Contemporary' patterns, and they appeared on Poole's Freeform pieces. This teapot has been signed by the paintress.
