Does yay retro! sell any brand new products?

Yes, I now sell handmade crocheted items such as crochet shawls, hot water bottle covers, blankets, crochet mandalas and pot stands.

Does yay retro! sell vintage products?

Yes, however only the items left on the website, once these are sold yay retro! will no longer be dealing in vintage items. 

What environment is your Crochet created in?

My home is entirely smoke and pet free. 

How do I wash my crocheted item?

All crochet can be hand washed in cool/warm water. Cool rinse, then you can *gently* spin dry if you wish - do pop the item inside a laundry bag or pillowcase to keep it's shape during spinning. Dry flat. Reshape whilst damp. Do not iron. Do not wash in hot water.

Tell me about the FREE Packaging & Postage for UK Mainland & NI?

I mainly use Royal Mail 2nd Class postage and sometimes a courier. My prices include P&P* and are for UK mainland delivery ONLY. 

I live in the Channel Islands / Overseas do I receive Free Postage?

No. I do not ship overseas and will refund your order in full unless you have emailed me ahead of ordering and we have agreed a top up postage price.

When will you despatch my items?

I will acknowledge your order personally by email, and let you know the date of despatch.  Delivery normally takes 1-3 working days after this. If you need your items by a particular date always get in touch via to discuss options.

Why is everything I can see sold?

If everything you can see is sold, it may be that you have entered the yay retro! shop via a web or image search that is looking at a specific 'term' on the website. For instance a brand or type of item which has currently sold out. The nature of the vintage items I have sold means they cannot easily be bought on demand all of the time as they are from the 1940s to 70s, and can only be sourced and put up for sale as and when I find them. To see everything yay retro! has for sale, simply click 'yay retro!' at the top of the website, or here.

Note, I do not remove sold items from the website as many people like to visit yay retro! for reference,  research and browsing the kinds of items different brands and mid century designers created. As of 2019 yay retro! will cease selling vintage wares, so you may only see crocheted items for sale regardless of the image clicked during as web search.

Why can't I see the Checkout Basket?

If you are using Safari on an iPhone in secure browsing mode, the information the website needs to be able to add items to your basket cannot work. Try switching secure browsing mode off, or email with your order and contact details.

How do yay retro! Gift Vouchers work?

Gift Vouchers are sent by 'signed for' Royal Mail to ensure they are received safely. They are redeemable for merchandise online at When redeeming, please ensure your order is equal to, or more than your gift voucher, as they can be used for just one transaction, and no change will be given on gift voucher purchases. You and your recipient are sent details on how to redeem the vouchers on purchase :O) (note currently I am not selling yay retro! Gift Vouchers).

Does yay retro! ship overseas?

 If you wish to buy a crocheted item and have it sent overseas, please get in touch for a postage price. Unfortunately due to the excessive time and cost implications, I no longer ship vintage wares overseas. Sorry for the inconvenience. I can ship to friends and family in the UK or to a specialist Forwarding Company with a UK address (at your risk).
