Retro china, glassware & kitchenalia to buy
How about some Tea Time Prints?
Just came across a great portfolio of work which pairs up two of my favourite things - china and birds! Suzanne Carpenter is an illustrator and designer, based in Cardiff who says she has 'birds on the brain'! Inspired by Folk Art across the world, she creates brightly coloured prints, cards, wrapping paper and book illustrations amongst other things.
Suzanne says she is also slightly obsessive about tea and coffee and she loves vintage cups, we love her Meakin inspired coffee pot print, and her teeny birds in huge cups!
Suzanne tells us that:
"A wander through the yay retro! website has brightened up the rainy days and provided some sunny inspiration. Watch out for the Orange Tams Teaset and Beautiful Vintage Glasses Mix which are going to be working their way into my print designs. The complimentary colours and patterns of the glasses are truly scrumptious and my brain feels refreshed just looking at them – elbows at the ready. . . . . .
I'm going to be offering more in the way of customised prints soon and am always open to collaboration and commission. I work from an old coach house at the entrance to Sophia Gardens in Cardiff so this spring will be sprouting lots of leafy designs. The kettle is always on so if you want to talk design – just drop in!" You can find Suzanne's work on her website here or in the Holly Over The Moon etsy shop.
