Roasted Sprouts in Lemon Juice a review
Recently we had a go at roasting sprouts after seeing an online recipe. I must admit to being my usual 'don't use a recipe' self, and basically made it up. So here's the recipe for 2 people, and the outcome!
Enough sprouts for 2 people, peeled and halved Olive Oil A little salt Juice of half a lemon
Drizzle the sprouts in a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt,. Roast in the oven for 15 minutes at 200c on a baking tray. Keep an eye on them as they can blacken quite quickly. Now pour over the lemon juice and return to the oven for 5 minutes.
Serve with a roast dinner and gravy.
I felt they looked interesting in that some areas of the sprouts remained green, some yellow and much of them had blackened. My husband thought they tasted amazing and wanted to have them again, however I found them to be bitter (I know a lot of people find this with sprouts, but I don't normally.)
