Pretty Fragmented Vintage China Jewellery

On one of our recent wanderings we came across the lovely work of Hedd Emrys from Pretty Fragmented, who creates one off items of jewellery from pieces of vintage china. Each necklace, brooch or pair of earrings is created by hand from retro table wares from the 40s, 50, 60s and 70s and so they are right up our street!

Hedd tells us she loves retro china with Kathie Winkle, Midwinter, Biltons and J & G Meakin being some of her absolute favourites. We also love her pieces made from Elizabethan fine bone china such as this heart shaped pendant which comes in the Carnaby pattern. Being a lover of minimal art, I am personally very attracted to the understated green stripe necklace made from the edge of a simple plate too!

You can see a set of typical Elizabethan Fine Bone China cups and saucers below (these are in the Portobello pattern), these give you an idea of how intricate Hedd has to be when cutting out and refining her shapes to make her jewellery.

If you love bird designs (and who doesn't?!), then the bird brooches from Pretty Fragmented are sure to appeal. this cute orange and yellow floral bird has only just been created and is gorgeous! Next to the minimal stripe necklace above, our second favourite just has to be the pendant created from a section of Kathie Winkle's Mexico pattern - so natural and earthy - it's fab!

Below is an example of a Kathie Winkle jug which we have for sale in the yay retro! shop now. Hedd has managed to create a lovely shaped pendant from just such a piece :O)
