Empire Checkmate Coffee Set for sale

One of our favourite patterns in retro china is on the Checkmate coffee set from Empire. This great design sees orange and grey diamonds on an off white background, with mocha coloured saucers. The china is fine and light, and the shapes are just fab.

The coffee pot is not too big (a very good thing in our opinion), stylish and beautifully shaped. When not in use it would make an ideal ornament, and although we have not tested it, the spout looks like it would be an excellent pourer. The overall shape has a Turkish feel doesn't it?

These sets are hard to find in perfect condition, as they are prone to age related crazing all over. However, the one we have in stock now is very good indeed. Definitely worth a check out in the yay retro! shop.
