Ripple & Ariadne Poole Pottery for sale

yay retro! just loves to hunt down unusual Poole Pottery pieces, and here we have two great collectors pieces from Poole Pottery's 'contemporary range' of the 1950s.

The Streamline shaped Poole Pottery Serving Dish above, has the "Ripple" pattern, which was designed by Ann Read and Ruth Pavely in 1955. "Ripple" is a Purbeck Grey wavy line with Lemon Yellow spiral motifs on an alpine white background. The base is sepia as it should be. This is in lovely for Poole Pottery collectors.

Right now, we also have a stunning condition Poole teapot designed by Ann Read in the mid 1950s. The pattern is called Ariadne, and is an absolute gift for any avid Poole Pottery collector. Ariadne is a wavy pattern in Terracotta Red and Glacier Blue glazes on an Alpine white (light cream) background. This always appears with a sepia lid, as it does here. Poole named these patterns as 'Contemporary' patterns, and they appeared on Poole's Freeform pieces. This teapot has been signed by the paintress.
