Jane's work is created via screen printing, after a design is hand drawn. The resulting prints could appear on paper for framing, a bag, cushion cover, a tea towel or a greetings card!
Jane actually trained as a musician and only had a career change to art and design fairly recently. She studied the violin and piano at music college and then went on to teach for years until she noticed her heart was no longer in it. Luckily she discovered a place she could screen print and the rest is history!
Jane loves any ceramics with bright, colourful designs, especially Scandinavian ones and those from the 50s, 60s and 70s. In fact Jane was one of yay retro!'s first customers when she purchased a Scandi style preserve pot from us :O) Now Jane tells us her favourite item in the yay retro! shop is our Scandi style Staffordshire Pottery tea set:
Visiting Jane Foster's website recently has made me want to get another of her prints for our dining room, some cards and maybe a tea towel too! blog comments powered by Disqus
