yay retro! find inspiration at Olive Homeware
Recently on a little trip around the internet, we came across Olive Homeware, an online shop which began it's life nearly 2 years ago, selling inspirational items for your home.
It has gradually evolved and now represents new designer-makers and this is the focus for the Olive Homeware's future. We love the Jessica Hogarth tea towels, and the fabric cushions in the shop as great illustration and design are a yay retro! passion...
Olive Homeware also stock bright and colourful (mostly unisex) items from The Organic Quilt Company, the quality of the organic fabrics and sewing is amazing. These are not only suitable for tiny babies, they are something that will last well into childhood...Our downfall is always cute toy rabbits, and Olive Homeware also stock these - yay!
The owner of Olive Homeware tells us she collects Poole Pottery's ice green and seagull colour way and a heavy and practical Hornsea Cornrose set which she loves because "it is indestructible!" We asked what was her favourite item on the yay retro! website and why? :
"The Rare Poole Cruet Set is perfect. I like the simplicity of the cruet shapes with the added flamboyance of the tray and it is a great example of Poole Pottery's 1950's hand painted patterns. I also love that it is practical, I am not a fan for delicate flowery vintage items which look nice on the self but only gather dust, I like items to have a well designed function."
