Go Shopping at Morrisons with your Vintage Tupperware from May 2018

In a bid to reduce the amount of plastics being discarded each day, UK supermarket Morrisons has just announced that customers can take along their own plastic containers to carry home fresh meat and fish from their butcher and fishmonger counters from this month.

This is along with a promise to make all of it's own brand plastic packaging recyclable, compostable or reusable by 2025. The supermarket is already planning to remove plastic packing from fruit and vegetable as a trial in some of it's stores, and will be getting rid of the black plastic trays used for meat and fish by 2019.

Take your Vintage Tupperware when you go Shopping!

Vintage lovers across the country are sure to be delighted that there's now another reason to flaunt their vintage Tupperware (aside from storing foods, lunch breaks, using it on picnics and when camping)...You can now take it shopping with you and help to reduce plastic waste. Simply shop at the fresh meat or fish counter in Morrisons, hand over your Tupperware and they will pop your food into your own container to take home, brilliant!

It's best to keep the containers you will be using for fresh meat and fish completely separate to prevent contamination with other cooked or raw foods, so you may wish to invest in another set of these fab retro plastic storage containers! Whether you love the 1960s pastel coloured or the 70/80s orange and yellow coloured Tupperware there's now even more reasons to buy vintage Tupperware from yay retro!  Pop in to my online vintage shop now to see what Tupperware I have in stock right now.
