Vintage Butter & Cheese Dishes for Sale at yay retro!
Many people love to have vintage cheese and butter dishes as they were made so attractively back in the day, so a funky cheese or butter dish is always a welcome addition to any vintage styled kitchen. The yay retro! online vintage shop has a really nice range for sale at the moment, so it's worth popping in.
How about this 1970s Luthje, Denmark butter dish? With it's teak base and knob, this plastic domed dish is well designed and comes from a very sought after Scandinavian brand. Simply click the photo to find out more.
We adore this Palissy butter or cheese dish, again from the 1970s, it has patterns which today's retro designers have been very influenced by! We adore the daisy on the lid and the super orange petal patterns around the sides. This one comes in unused condition, making a great gift idea!
Poole Pottery Cheese dishes can double up as Butter dishes and were made from the 1930s onwards. The Streamline shaped Cheese dish is the most sought after shape as it is timeless and minimal. Here we have it in the rarer bright orange Desert Song glaze. In what appears to be unused condition, this is one for Poole Pottery collectors to snap up, as well as anyone who simply adores orange in their kitchens! (It goes well with any kind of blue).
This Lord Nelson Rio cheese or butter dish has the craziest of designs which feature Mexican Motifs such as Cacti, guitars, corn on the cob and Chianti bottles! We simply adore this 1960/70s design, and it is a very rare find indeed. If you wanted to give a fun vintage gift then this would be it!
If Melaware or Melamine is more your thing, yay retro! always aim to have some in stock as many vintage caravan and camper van owners like to buy them. Usually I sell Gaydon Melmex butter dishes, however this week I have a rather superb and unusual vintage Bessemer melamine butter dish for sale. Just look at that sleek design! This would of course work just as well in your home, and being virtually unbreakable this has all round appeal.
If you are looking for something simpler, then you cannot go wrong with this glass butter dish. Resilient, robust and minimal this is a popular design with many people, and a staple of any vintage kitchen.
