Poole Pottery Freeform Cheese Dishes for sale

If you have ever wondered what started yay retro! off in the world of vintage, then wonder no more it was a beautiful Poole Pottery  Freeform cheese dish which flicked the vintage switch in my brain and got me collecting...

I absolutely adore the minimal smooth lines of this cheese dish design created by A.B Read for Poole Pottery in 1958. It actually feels 30s in shape to me, with the lid reminding me of the bonnet of a vintage racing car.

The rectangular base with it's curved lip and matte finish is a piece of art by itself in my eyes - perfect in size and shape. At the moment the yay retro! online vintage shop has 2 of these gorgeous cheese dishes in stock.

One is in the very rarely found Red Pippin design, which was introduced to Poole by Ruth Pavely in 1957. This features an ice green base with an off white lid gently hand-decorated with apples in mint green and a deep reddish pink.

The other is in Robert Jefferson's Blue moon glaze, a rich teal launched in the early 1960s. Again, not often found this glaze looks stunning alongside pale blue or orange tablewares. Why not search Poole Pottery at yay retro! now? Combined postage available.
