Vintage with fabric flowers from The Yellow Tulip at yay retro!

A good while ago I came across the work of Eve from The Yellow Tulip. Based in Dorset, Eve handmakes the cutest flowers using a wide range of fabrics, from plain to striped to polka dot. The flowers have button centres and wooden stalks making them very easy to arrange.  I bought two bunches from her initially, and was so taken with them bought another and another and...!

Some have made their way into friends homes, but I have to admit that many of them have stayed at mine. The reason? They are one of the simplest and prettiest ways to show off your vintage wares!  All of my friends have remarked on how lovely they are, and of course as they are made from fabric they are everlasting.

Recently I got in touch with Eve, and asked if she would like to team up with yay retro!, happily she said 'yes', and so work began on a commission for a range of mini bouquets and bunches to match some specially bought vintage vases, plus cups and jugs from the yay retro! shop. Today was the day of their arrival, and a mammoth photo shoot later, these lovely vintage wares are now in the shop with their flowery counterparts.

The range includes 1950s vases, 60s/70s glassware in bright colours, vintage cups & saucers, jugs and even a John Clappison Hornsea vase. If you would like to take a look at the current stock of fabric flowers twinned with retro wares, click here to search for The Yellow Tulip at yay retro! Prices start at just £12.00. Do let us know which are your favourites :O)
