New range of Mosaic Fish in Stock at yay retro!

Great news... yay retro! have caught a fresh batch of vintage mosaic fish! These wonderful artworks are handmade for us by artist Fiona Gurney who is based in Lincolnshire. Each fish mosaic is painstakingly put together using china and pottery from the 1930s to the 70s, and it is Fiona's careful attention to detail and fabulous eye for design which makes them so desirable and collectable.

Now I know that fisherman often lie about the size of their catch, but the larger ones of these are a whopping 31cm long!  Ideal for standing on a shelf or hanging on the wall (the fixings are already attached for you), these fish look great singly or in groups or shoals.

The most recent pieces have cup handle fins, which is a fabulously quirky idea, which underlines the source of the china - cups, saucers, plates, dishes and even coffee pots are used in their creation.
