Vintage Fabric Patchwork in the making!

Recently I was given a cute and very handy mini John Lewis sewing machine by my Mum and Dad. Since then I have been since hunting down vintage fabrics to have a play with. The first thing I made were napkins and a table runner (nice straight lines, so nothing too drastic to contend with!)

Then a lovely friend gave me some vintage patchwork squares, so I invested in Jane Fosters 'Fun with fabric' book. This explains how to make patchwork quilts on a sewing machine in a really quick and easy way. I am midway through a patchwork blanket for my daughter in law who is expecting a baby at the moment.  What do you think?

When complete, I will be backing with some vintage sheeting, and for inside I have a piece of soft lambswool type fabric.  I will let you know how I get on :O)

If you are looking for lovely vintage sheets and fabric you can find some in the yay retro! Knits & Linen section here.
