Easter Vintage = Zero Calories!
Here at yay retro! we have been on a Weightwatchers diet, it has been great fun and between me and Mr yay, we've lost over 22lbs so far! With Easter coming up, and the temptation of Easter Eggs, Simnel Cake and the like we are keen not to put any weight back on....this led me to thinking about zero calorie gifts and of course yay retro!'s online vintage shop is full of lovely ideas....
Here is my top Vintage Easter Gift List:
1. Let's start with one for the children. This gorgeous boxed set of 4 easter chicken egg cups comes with a whacky wooden egg timer. c.1950/60 the box is both pink and blue making it ideal for either a boy or a girl (for say a christening or naming day as well as Easter). This is a lovely present which a family would enjoy receiving and one that is sure to become an heirloom :O)
2. Next up is a set of Figgjo Flint Market Place egg cups. Ideal for the person who loves ditsy flowers, 1960s design or is a collector of Scandinavian tableware, these are extremely pretty. We love the way there is room for your spoon and a dash of salt & pepper on the side of these cleverly designed egg cups.
3. Putting egg cups aside for a moment, how about this fab Irish Linen vintage 70s tea towel? This is a perfect Easter gift. Designed for the British Egg Information Service, it is a bright Spring green and is decorated with 70s style people dancing about extolling the virtues of eating eggs - "Goodness gracious, how I need those eggs!" it says across the top :O) This could easily be framed for the kitchen, as well as being put to use with the Easter washing up!
4. If you have a child to buy for that loves visiting the farm, take a look at our 70s Staffordshire Pottery breakfast set which includes an egg cup, plate and mug. These are decorated with farmyard scenes and the egg cup has a very proud 70s chicken laying a egg in her nest.
