Beautiful Jersey Pottery Birds

Over the past couple of years I have been collecting 60s/70s Jersey Pottery birds, each hand painted dish is quite large, and could be used to serve nibbles, sweets or even as a pot stand or spoon rest.  They each appear to have a unique pattern, being hand crafted, and because of this I use them as ornaments. Mysteriously these seem to have gone under the vintage radar somewhat.

The likes of the John Clappison's Hornsea Birds (which were designed to be ashtrays), are highly sought after right now, yet these cute little creatures don't seem to have a following. Why? They are absolutely adorable!

Now I have my collection in place, I will be seeking these birds out for the yay retro! shop. Keep your eyes peeled if like me, you love them!
